Dr. Bartels is originally from Arkansas and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Arkansas. She then completed medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. She finished a transitional year internship in Virginia before she moved to Texas to start ophthalmology residency. During her ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech, she was awarded the Outstanding Grand Rounds Award and served as a chief resident in her final year. She started her career in private practice in Arkansas before deciding to move to New Hampshire.
Dr. Bartels is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and Women in Ophthalmology. She is interested in cultivating doctor-patient relationships to improve the quality of ophthalmic care, including prevention, diagnosis and treatment. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and tackling home organization projects. She is looking forward to exploring all that New England has to offer.
